The MCTV Network operates four cable access TV channels on Charter Spectrum and AT&T U-verse. MCTV also offers video online and audio podcast services to community media producers. These channels contribute to a sense of community, providing hyper-local content, transparency in government and a free speech forum to individuals and organizations. MGTV-188 – Midland Government TV: Watch meetings of City Council and nine boards and commissions. You’ll also see programs and messages about services provided by the City of Midland. Check this channel for weather warnings and information on emergency situations.
Videos on City services, programs, and events are also uploaded to the City’s YouTube page (www.youtube.com/citymidland) and on Facebook.
MCTV-189 – Messages: View messages submitted by individuals and non-profits about events, services, fundraisers, and other critical public information.
MPS-TV 190 – Midland Public Schools: Tune in for Midland Public Schools Board of Education meetings, school sports, concerts, school closures, and information about activities in your neighborhood schools. Search Midland Public Schools on YouTube to watch programming online.
MCTV-191 – Community Voices: Midland’s public access channel shows programs submitted by individuals and organizations of the Midland area. Examples include church services, arts programming, concerts, sports, service clubs, and non-profit organization activities and services.
Channels 188-191 are found on the Charter Spectrum cable system. On AT&Ts U-verse, go to Channel 99 and search for “Midland Community Television.”
View many MCTV programs online at YouTube.com. Search MCTV Network’s Community Voices to view local programming on a variety of topics.
You can listen to local, audio only podcasts by searching MCTV Network’s Community Voices or MCTV Network’s Government Affairs in your preferred podcast platform.
Program schedules are available on MCTV’s website, Charter’s digital program guide, and Midland Daily News Weekend Edition.
Non-Profit Organizations can use our free PSA service to create a 30 – 60 second public service announcement that will be uploaded to YouTube, shared on Facebook, and made available as an audio only file for local radio stations to use.
Participate: To submit programs, videos, podcasts, share messages, or use MCTV’s production equipment to create videos or audio podcasts, you must be a resident of the city or county of Midland or represent a non-profit within Midland County. In addition, an annual access user fee of $25 is required. MCTV also provides Media Producer Workshops for a $20 fee.
Location: MCTV is in the lower level of the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library, 1710 W. St. Andrews Road.
